Top Toy Picks: Our 3 Best Toys for Terriers

Terriers – they may be small, but they are mighty!

We’ve been lucky enough to have a number of terriers as part of the Tug-E-Nuff family over the years, and we adore their mischievous nature and endless energy for play.

Terriers are highly intelligent and well-known for being easy to train. Often, the only trouble is finding durable, enticing dog training toys for terriers that boost training and are super fun.

So if you’re tired of buying toys for your terrier that fall apart after five minutes, this is the Training Spotlight for you.

Here are our top picks of robust interactive training toys that are irresistible to all variations of this breed, from Yorkshire Terriers and Jack Russells to Airedale terriers and West Highland Whites…

  1. Little Tuggers – Crazy Thing

Tap into the hunting instinct of your terrier with our Little Tuggers – Crazy Thing. The individual strands of colourful fleece dance when this toy is moved, mimicking the feathers of a bird and getting your terrier feeling fired up and ready to play.

There’s a cushioned handle made from super-strong webbing so you can enjoy hours of training fun, confident that this toy will withstand the terrier test! If you prefer a bungee tug with a longer handle, also check out this larger version of our Crazy Thing.

  1. Little Tuggers – Sheepskin Bungee Tug

Every terrier we know is great at playing tugging games, and using real sheepskin is always a great way to help use play as a reward during training. With our Little Tuggers – Sheepskin Bungee Tug, the bite area is made from British sheepskin cut to a shorter pile than our standard tugs, making it easier for terrier mouths to grab on to.

Of course, if sheepskin is your terrier’s thing, we have a whole range of Sheepskin dog training toys to choose from, such as our Sheepskin Bungee Chaser With Tennis Balland our Sheepskin Bungee Ring. The only hard part is deciding which one your terrier will love the most!

  1. The Clam

Is your terrier food-obsessed? Yup, that’s part and parcel of being a terrier – and it’s why The Clamis always such a hit. Reward your terrier from a distance by throwing The Clam and letting them help themselves to the treats hidden inside The Clam’s secret compartment. Terriers get the hang of The Clam in no time and simply love chasing after it as part of training and play time.
